Our Lady of Mt. Carmel

I am attempting to get back into the swing of the liturgical calendar--at least with food. Since Steve is a Third Order Carmelite, it was fitting to start with the Feast of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel. Dinner was simple--zucchini and sausage--but I made a giant brownie scapular for dessert. I combined a couple of ideas from Catholic Cuisine.

    It looks like Marie has a gluten allergy, sigh, so we are off on a new culinary adventure. How to celebrate the feasts without wheat? That is the question!
